Poland may consider interest rate hikes only if price pressures return for a longer period than one or two quarters, according to central bank policymaker Gabriela Maslowska.

Uncertainty over the Iran war on inflation means that Polish policymakers “must be particularly cautious now,” Maslowska told Bloomberg News. Earlier this month, the 10-member Monetary Policy Council resumed interest rate cuts, slashing its benchmark by a quarter point to 3.75% and extending the easing cycle since last May to 200 basis points.
