Takaichi Misses Events Due to Cold Symptoms Before Trump Visit
Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi canceled her participation in some official events Thursday after developing cold-like symptoms, days before she’s scheduled to depart for a trip to the US to meet with President Donald Trump.
Takaichi was advised to rest by doctors, ultimately skipping some meetings with local Middle Eastern ambassadors on Thursday, according to local media. A video showing her looking visibly exhausted after a budget committee session held that day garnered attention online.
