China called on the US to stop selling weapons to Taiwan after a report that President Donald Trump could sign off on a $14 billion deal after his trip to Beijing later this month.

Washington “should stop arms sales to Taiwan and take concrete actions to maintain the stable development of China-US relations, as well as peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait,” Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun said at a regular press briefing in Beijing on Friday.
