Rivian’s More-Affordable Model to Debut With $57,990 Price Tag

Electric-vehicle shoppers will have to wait until at least 2027 for Rivian Automotive Inc. to sell an SUV for less than $50,000.

Rivian’s long-promised R2 midsize SUV will start at $57,990 when deliveries begin this spring, the EV maker said Thursday. That’s about $13,000 more than what Rivian eventually aims to charge for entry-level R2s, which arrive late next year.
