Crispin Odey said he was “embarrassed” by allegations of sexual misconduct that ultimately spelled the end of his career at the top of the London hedge fund industry.

The note of contrition emerged in a witness statement Odey prepared for the London appeal of his lifetime ban from UK finance and a £1.8 million ($2.4 million) fine for “reckless disregard” for corporate governance. Odey though claimed that some of the allegations against him are fabrications from unhappy staff that the firm fired.
