René Redzepi, the co-founder and longtime head chef of Copenhagen’s three-Michelin-starred restaurant Noma, said he is stepping down following allegations of abusive behavior toward former employees.

Redzepi announced his decision in an Instagram story late Wednesday, writing that after more than two decades building and leading the renowned restaurant, he would “take responsibility” for his actions and let “our extraordinary leaders now guide the restaurant into its next chapter.” He also said he would leave the board of MAD, the nonprofit food organization he founded in 2011.
