LG Energy to Unveil New Battery Model in Energy Storage Push

LG Energy Solution Ltd. plans to commercialize a higher-performance version of its iron-based battery next year, seeking to strengthen its position in the fast-growing energy storage market and challenge Chinese rivals.

The Seoul-based company will begin mass production of a new model of its lithium-iron-phosphate cell in 2027, featuring improved energy density and longer life cycles, Chief Technology Officer Kim Je-Young said in an interview with on Wednesday.
