UK to Release Trove of Mandelson Papers as Starmer Faces Heat
The UK government is preparing to publish a first set of documents relating to the controversial appointment of Peter Mandelson as US ambassador in a move that threatens to redouble pressure on Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
The release will take place after Prime Minister’s Questions in the House of Commons on Wednesday afternoon, Starmer’s chief secretary, Darren Jones, confirmed in a round of broadcast interviews. “This is the first tranche,” he told Times Radio. “There will be a second tranche of documents that will come at a later stage.”
