Romania approved a US request to temporarily deploy military aircraft and equipment on its soil to help with its operations in the Middle East.

The country’s parliament voted in favor of the request on Wednesday, after the top defense council gave its own approval. President Nicusor Dan said the equipment to be sent to Romania has a “strict defensive role” and includes refueling planes.
