Kenya Plans $2.9 Billion Gas Power Plant Near Mombasa Port

Kenya plans to build a 1,200-megawatt gas-fired power plant on its east coast as it ramps up electricity output to meet growing demand.

The East African nation is seeking transaction advisers to design and structure the project, which will cost an estimated $2.9 billion, Energy Principal Secretary Alex Wachira said by phone.
