Germany Says Ready to Release Part of National Oil Reserve

Germany expects to release part of its national oil reserves if a proposal by the International Energy Agency is accepted, Economy Minister Katherina Reiche said.

“The International Energy Agency yesterday evening asked its member states to release oil reserves of 400 million barrels,” Reiche told reporters Wednesday in Berlin. “We will accede to this request and make our contribution.”
