Berlin Airport Was Temporarily Closed for Security Reasons

Operations at Berlin Brandenburg international airport were temporarily suspended Wednesday evening following the sighting of an unidentified flying object in the area.

There were no takeoffs or landings between 6.40 p.m. and 7.18 p.m. local time, Berlin airport said in an emailed statement, adding that this was a “routine procedure”. Flight operations have resumed in the meantime, it said.
