Egypt Inflation Quickened in Month Before Iran War Erupted
Egyptian inflation quickened in February, a situation that may be poised to worsen as the knock-on effects from the Iran war pile pressure on the import-reliant economy.
Consumer-price growth in urban areas was 13.4% last month compared with 11.9% in January, state statistics agency CAPMAS said Tuesday. On a monthly basis, inflation was 2.8% in February versus 1.2% in January.
