AT&T Pledges to Spend $250 Billion in Five Years on Network

AT&T Inc. said it will spend more than $250 billion in five years to expand its telecom infrastructure and business operations, joining dozens of other businesses that have pledged to invest in the US economy since President Donald Trump started his second term.

The figure includes previously announced capital spending plans, as well as operating expenses such as software and employee costs, Chief Technology Officer Jeremy Legg said in an interview. The company will expand its fiber optic network and strengthen its wireless service in the period. “Lots of American jobs are created through those investments, which also become part of the spending we’re doing across the country,” he said.
