Airbnb Hires Uber Veteran Fuldner as Global Head of Operations

Airbnb Inc. has named longtime Uber Technologies Inc. executive Gus Fuldner as its new global head of operations, marking a key leadership hire at a time when the company’s business is diversifying.

Fuldner, who left the rideshare giant earlier this year after more than a decade, will join Airbnb on March 16, Chief Executive Officer Brian Chesky said in an email to employees on Tuesday. He will succeed Tara Bunch, who has decided to retire six years after joining the company from Apple Inc., according to the memo. Bunch will remain with the company until June as an advisor to help with the transition, a company spokesperson said.
