Sweden to Build Fuel, Food Stockpiles as Conflict Worries Grow

Sweden will amass stockpiles of essentials like fuel, food and power generators in case of crises or war in a further sign of the Nordic state’s increasing concern about conflict spreading to the region.

The government is allocating 1.4 billion kronor ($150 million) to local communities for preparedness, Minister for Civil Defense Carl-Oskar Bohlin said at a news conference on Monday.
