SoftBank Group CDS Widens, Shares Slump on Stargate AI Concerns

SoftBank Group Corp.’s credit default swaps widened and its shares fell after concerns mounted over the viability of the artificial intelligence infrastructure project known as “Stargate,” in which the Japanese conglomerate is involved.

The 5-year CDS for SoftBank was indicated around 380 basis points as of 9:30 a.m. Tokyo time Monday, according to a trader, compared with about 347 basis points late last week. The company’s shares dropped as much as 12.5%, hitting their lowest level since August 2025.
