EU’s Dombrovskis Says Release of Oil Reserves Is an Option

European Union Economy Commissioner Valdis Dombrovskis said euro-area finance chiefs will talk about a possible joint release of oil reserves after crude smashed through $100 a barrel.

“From the European Commission side we have certain reflections on possible steps and that’s something we are going to discuss with ministers today,” he told reporters in Brussels on Monday. “One of the options considered is the also the release of oil reserves, to provide more oil supply during this disruption.”
