Prime Minister Keir Starmer raised the prospect of helping British households with soaring energy bills as oil prices exceeded $100-a-barrel for the first time since 2022, with little sign that the war in Iran is nearing resolution.
“No matter the headwinds, supporting working people and their families with the cost of living is always top of my mind,” he said ahead of a visit on Monday to a community center in London. He said his government was monitoring the economic fallout and working with others to mitigate it.
