US and Ukrainian negotiators discussed forging a free-trade agreement between their countries as well as a sovereign fund to aid the country’s postwar recovery, according to a top official in Kyiv.

Economy Minister Oleksii Sobolev said he’d discussed the issues with President Donald Trump’s envoys in Geneva, Switzerland, last week as part of negotiations over security guarantees to be offered after the conflict ends. Sobolev led the talks for Kyiv with special envoy Steve Witkoff and Trump son-in-law Jared Kushner.
