CMA CGM SA, the world’s third-largest container line, warned that war in the Middle East could upend its projections for industry growth amid halted shipping routes and impacted transport in the Strait of Hormuz.

The French company, controlled by the billionaire Saade family, said on Friday it had been expecting “moderate growth worldwide” in 2026, but that developments in the region, particularly the Red Sea, “will be key factors influencing market balance and freight rate trends.”
