The Michigan Republican who chairs the Congressional Select Committee on China urged Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent to closely scrutinize any expansion of US market access for Chinese manufacturers of cars, batteries and vehicle technology.

In a letter to Bessent, US Representative John Moolenaar said that China has subsidized and taken other steps to give its domestic automakers an unfair competitive advantage.
