Ben Talei starts his day with a coffee, staring at his supercars through the glass wall in his Beverly Hills kitchen. The prominent plastic surgeon completed a home renovation some four years ago to show off his extensive car collection, including rare ones like the McLaren SLR HDK.

Talei is part of a luxury trend: It’s not just what you buy, it’s how you store it. The wealthy are creating bespoke spaces meant to showcase their supercars, handbags and wine collections instead of tucking them away in garages, walk-in closets and dark cellars.
