WD CEO Is Focused on Making Bigger Hard Drives, Not More of Them

WD Corp., facing an industrywide surge in demand for data storage, is focused on producing higher-capacity hard drives, rather than simply building more units.

“We don’t need to increase unit capacity — what we’re doing is to use technology to increase the capacity for drives,” Chief Executive Officer Irving Tan said Wednesday on Bloomberg Tech.
