Santander Exposure to Failed Lender MFS More Than £200 Million

Banco Santander SA is owed between £200 million ($267 million) and £300 million by a company tied to Market Financial Solutions Ltd., the failed UK lender that has rattled Wall Street, a person familiar with the matter said.

The Spanish lender’s exposure is secured against a portfolio of mortgages, the person said, asking not to be named as the matter isn’t public. The figure compares with the roughly £500 million owed to Barclays Plc and £400 million to Apollo Global Management Inc.’s Atlas SP Partners unit.
