Polish President Karol Nawrocki said the central bank can provide cheap defense financing as an alternative to €44 billion ($51.2 billion) from the European Union’s loans-for-weapons program.

The president didn’t go into the details of the proposal during a joint news conference with central bank Governor Adam Glapinski on Wednesday that comes as he’s weighing whether to veto legislation needed to facilitate the EU funding plan.
