Malaysian Agency Impounds 40 Containers of Illegal Waste: Report

The Malaysian border control agency seized 40 shipping containers of illegally imported waste in the country’s largest port on Tuesday, according to a report in the New Straits Times.

A total of 868 tons of combined refuse were confiscated in Port Klang, of which 22 containers stored electronics material and 18 contained hazardous, or scheduled, waste, the report said, citing a statement by Nik Ezanee Mohd Faisal, Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency Port Klang commander.
