Crypto Firm Zerohash Applies for National Trust Bank Charter

Digital asset firm Zero Hash US LLC submitted an application for a national trust bank charter with the US Office of the Comptroller of the Currency.

The firm, which operates under the name Zerohash, provides crypto services to banks, brokerages and fintechs including prediction markets platform Kalshi and asset manager BlackRock Inc., according to its website. The firm’s national trust bank would provide digital asset services including custody over digital assets, fiat currency, and other assets, custodial staking, transfer agent services, stablecoin management, according to an application published by the OCC on Wednesday. Zerohash’s chief legal officer, Stephen Gardner, is the proposed chief executive officer of the trust bank.
