US Sanctions Rwandan Army for Backing M23 Rebels in Congo

The US government sanctioned Rwanda’s army and four of its top officials for supporting the M23 rebel movement occupying part of mineral-rich eastern Democratic Republic of Congo.

Rwanda’s government slammed the decision, calling it “unjust” and “one-sided.”
