Belgium Seizes Russian ‘Shadow Fleet Tanker’ in North Sea

Belgium’s special forces on Sunday boarded and seized an oil tanker from the “shadow fleet” that Russia uses to circumvent Western sanctions imposed over its war in Ukraine.

The operation was conducted as part of an international task force, with Group of Seven, Nordic and Baltic partners working alongside Belgium, Foreign Affairs Minister Maxime Prevot said in a post on X.
