Trump Delays Taiwan Arm Sales as Beijing Visit Nears, NYT Says

The Trump administration is delaying a multi-billion dollars arms sales to Taiwan to ensure President Donald Trump’s visit to Beijing is successful, the New York Times reported.

The weapon sales package has stalled in the State Department after senior lawmakers approved the plan in January, the report said, citing US officials it didn’t identify. The White House has told agencies not to push forward ahead of Trump’s meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping, the report said.
