Italy’s Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni would like the European Union to form a free-trade zone with the US in order to get past the transatlantic tariff fight.

She also wants the EU to adopt the trade agreement it struck with the US last summer, which was thrown into chaos after the US Supreme Court struck down part of President Donald Trump’s authority to impose tariffs.
