Brazil Inflation’s Surprising Resilience Clouds Rate Outlook

Brazil’s annual inflation slowed less than expected in early February, clouding the path for interest rate cuts just weeks before the central bank is expected to begin monetary easing.

Official data released on Friday showed consumer prices rose 4.1% from a year earlier, above the 3.82% median estimate from analysts surveyed by Bloomberg. From a month ago, inflation gained 0.84%.
