US Stocks Slide as Nvidia, Tech Shares Drop on AI Worries

US stocks fell after better-than-expected results from chipmaker Nvidia Corp. failed to quell investors’ concerns about the sustainability of big-tech’s gains.

The S&P 500 Index closed down 0.5%, with seven of 11 sectors lower, led by tech and communications services shares. The tech-heavy Nasdaq 100 Index shed 1.2%. The VIX Index rose to 18.64.
