SocGen Expands Japan Credit Business With Santander, UBS Hires

Societe Generale SA has hired two senior people for its business selling credit products in Japan, as opportunities in the country spur global banks to expand their local presence.

Mihiro Motegi joined the French firm’s investment banking unit in Tokyo from Banco Santander SA this month as a managing director, according to people familiar with the matter. He will lead sales of credit investments, including those tied to overseas corporate loans as well as asset-backed securities, to major Japanese financial companies.
