Plaid Scores $8 Billion Valuation in Move Closer to 2021 Heyday

Plaid Inc., one of the US’s biggest financial technology firms, secured an $8 billion valuation in its latest funding round, according to people familiar with the matter.

The company raised the funds to offer employees a way to get liquidity for their shares in the privately held firm, said the people, who asked not to be identified citing private information. The amount raised in the round couldn’t immediately be learned.
