Aramco Halts LPG Loadings as Accident Spurs Replacement Rush

Saudi Aramco canceled some deliveries of liquefied petroleum gas after a support structure collapsed at its Juaymah facility, sending prices higher and buyers scrambling for replacement supply.

On Feb. 23, a segment of the delivery system carrying propane and butane at the facility was structurally damaged, Aramco said in a statement, confirming an incident reported by Bloomberg. Juaymah is located on Saudi Arabia’s eastern Persian Gulf coast, near the country’s most prolific hydrocarbon deposits and the nation’s main crude-export facility at Ras Tanura.
