SEC’s Atkins Touts Plan for Digital Delivery of Fund Documents

US Securities and Exchange Commission Chairman Paul Atkins said he has instructed his staff to draft a proposal letting funds deliver electronic documents to shareholders by default instead of mailing out packets.

It’s been a repeat request from groups like the Investment Company Institute and the US Chamber of Commerce, which for years have complained to the SEC about the cost and burden of paper requirements.
