Transit service around New York City is gradually returning for Tuesday’s morning commute as workers rush to clear snow and ice to restore train and bus operations.

More commuters are poised to head back to offices after a winter blizzard blanketed the Northeast region with heavy snow and dangerous winds, causing wide-spread power outages and grounding more than 10,000 airline flights.
