French Power Prices Drop to Lowest Since June as Solar Surges
French month-ahead power slid to the lowest since June as a surge in solar generation pushed down spot prices.
Solar output climbed to the highest level since October, reaching 14.3 gigawatts on Tuesday — about 1.2 gigawatts above grid operator RTE’s forecast — and covered roughly 20% of demand around midday. Milder temperatures and softer demand amplified the impact, giving the market an early taste of spring.
