Fire, Power Outage Disrupt Operations at Cape Town Airport
A fire and a power outage disrupted operations at Cape Town International Airport on Tuesday, leading to delays and the suspension of international flights at the gateway to South Africa’s main tourism hub.
Multiple fire trucks were seen outside the main airport building and long lines of travelers formed at the departures section. In the arrivals hall, people used mobile-phone torches to make their way through the darkened building.
