Trump imposed a 15% global tariff over the weekend after the US Supreme Court ruled against his use of emergency powers to set reciprocal duties on countries around the world. The setback was viewed as strengthening Beijing’s hand in trade negotiations with Washington, making it harder for the US to press China for larger purchases of soybeans.
