Nigeria’s Tinubu Signs Electoral Bill into Law Despite Push Back

Nigerian President Bola Tinubu signed amendments to the country’s electoral law that critics warned may weaken safeguards before next year’s presidential election.

The changes are aimed at “closing gaps, strengthening procedures and providing greater clarity” in the conduct of elections in Africa’s most-populous nation, Tinubu said in a post on X on Wednesday.
