Mauritius, a tourism-dependent Indian Ocean island nation contending with coastal erosion and intermittent drought and floods, needs $5.6 billion over the next 25 years to fund the roll out of green energy and climate-adaptation measures, according to the World Bank.

Some $1.4 billion is required through 2030, with about a quarter of the money needed for energy initiatives, the Washington-based lender said in a country climate and development report that was unveiled on Thursday.
