ECB’s Elderson Tells Europe to Get ‘Act Together’ on Bank Union

Europe needs to “get our act together” on closer financial ties if it wants to remain master of its own destiny, European Central Bank Executive Board member Frank Elderson said, as he urged leaders to set aside national biases that have dogged progress.

“This is the time to come together,” Elderson said in an interview in Frankfurt on Tuesday. “If a generation before us could pool their national currencies, then we can do this.”
