BNP Paribas SA, which opened a Miami office in late 2023, is expanding headcount and holding internal discussions to add more business lines as its bet on serving the hedge fund community and other institutional investors locally pays off.

After opening with just three employees, BNP now has 21 people working from its office at 801 Brickell Ave. in the city’s financial district, with a full-service global-markets institutional sales team, according to Matt O’Connor, head of the Miami office. Revenue grew 47% last year, he said in an interview, and several additional employees will be hired in 2026. Miami is now the French bank’s largest global-markets branch office in the US after New York.
