Remitly CEO Steps Down, Succeeded by Santander Executive

Matt Oppenheimer is stepping down as chief executive officer of payments network Remitly Global Inc. and will be succeeded by Banco Santander SA’s Sebastian Gunningham.

Gunningham, most recently chairman of consumer finance at Santander and vice chairman of the Spanish firm’s digital-banking arm, will start in his new role on Thursday, according to a statement. He’ll also join Remitly’s board, which Oppenheimer will continue to lead as chairman.
