Ex-Schroders Duo Joins Neuberger in Contrarian EM Strategy Reset

Two unconventional former co-managers of an emerging-market equity fund at Schroders are joining Neuberger Berman, heralding what they say will be a “180-degree turn” in the money manager’s investment strategy.

The duo — Vera German and Juan Torres — plan a portfolio built around deeply discounted stock picks across overlooked markets from Indonesia to Brazil and parts of China. Their approach means forgoing crowded trades such as India and megacap technology shares.
