Peru Ousts Another President, Extending Political Instability
Peru’s President José Jerí was ousted by congress after just four months in office, adding to a saga of political instability that’s seen eight leaders pass through office since 2016.
Jerí is the fourth president to be removed from power in Peru since 2018, though two others resigned during that time period to avoid impeachment. His interim presidency was never meant to be long, and voters will head to the polls to elect a new leader in April.
