Jana Partners is a shareholder in payments processor Fiserv Inc. and is pushing for changes at the company, according to a person familiar with the matter.

The activist hedge fund has been speaking to Fiserv privately about ways to boost its stock price and support Chief Executive Officer Mike Lyons, the person said, asking not to be identified because the matter is private.
